Beethoven and the Brits
The 2011 fesival presented Beethoven in each concert along-side compositions written in the first three decades of the 20th century by three of Britain’s greatest composers: Franck Bridge, Gerald Finzi and Edward Elgar. Beethoven is also celebrated by ‘The Ludwig Project’, a special new festival commission from the Italian composer Nicola Campogrande.
